Travel Credentials | Safety & Security | Fundraising | Travel Protection | Testimonials | FAQ's Frequently Asked QuestionsHow many participants do I need to put a group together? Student Discoveries requires a minimum of 20 travelers to provide a customized group travel experience. What is the maximum number of passengers? Student Discoveries can work with group sizes from 20-120 and larger. The maximum number of passengers that can be placed on one coach varies by destination and will be detailed on your custom Student Discoveries quotation. How can I become a chaperone? Take part in the experience. Your student's teacher is the decision maker on parent participation and they make the chaperone choices for their trip. Once the teacher decides about parent participation and chaperones, Student Discoveries makes the trip enjoyable for everyone! Adults are able to book double rooms sharing with other adult participants or single rooms, depending on their wishes and budget (prices provided specifically for your program's itinerary). Student Discoveries also helps teachers and chaperones by providing a suggested list of guidelines and information for chaperones to get everyone working together to create the most enjoyable and safest experience for your student. Do chaperones travel for free? Does the teacher travel for free? Student Discoveries provides one free space per 10 paid students.
Free teacher upgrade. The first chaperone space (mentioned above) is provided in single occupancy accommodations for the teacher. Students will share rooms with 2 or 3 roommates of the same gender as assigned by the group leader. How much spending money will participants need? As a general guideline, we recommend $20-40 in spending money each day for lunches, snacks, souvenirs and free time activities. What type of travel documents are required for international programs? Passports are required for traveling abroad and must be valid for at least 6 months of your date of travel. The responsibility of obtaining a passport rests with the traveler. What travel insurance is available with Student Discoveries? Travel Protection Benefits are included in your package price: Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Accident and Sickness Medical Expense, Dental Expense, Emergency Medical Evacuation & Repatriation, Baggage and Personal Effects, and Baggage Delay (24 hours or more), and One Call Worldwide emergency travel assistance.
