Safety is our top priority. As the leading Tour Operator of guided vacations worldwide, the Globus family of brands holds the safety and security of our travelers as our top priority. With 32 offices around the world serviced by over 5,000 professionals, you can have peace of mind when your student travels with us. We work to continuously improve our safety programs to bring safe and enjoyable travel experiences.
Our safety programs feature many elements to provide a sense of security for parents, teachers, and chaperones. Parents can feel confident to entrust their child to Student Discoveries—and teachers and chaperones will know that they’ve got the support they need while on the trip, to provide the best educational program for their students while still being able to enjoy the experience themselves.
Our hotels and suppliers are carefully selected to meet our quality and safety standards. Our contracts require that all companies we work with hold valid insurance and meet our strict guidelines. We select only hotels with interior hallways and we provide night chaperones in many cities who monitor the hallways from late evening to morning to allow all participants to rest easy.
Students and their parents are asked to complete a Student Behavior Contract developed by your school, with guidelines from Student Discoveries. Setting the expectations for conduct and guidelines for the trip are a great way to set students up for a safe experience. We also make it easy for teachers to bring program chaperones for additional adult supervision.
Our Program Directors stay on site in the hotel with your group for 24-hour access to a Student Discoveries resource. Additionally, our operations offices worldwide are just a phone call away. In fact, each participant is provided a lanyard with emergency contact information for their Program Director and our toll-free emergency assistance number.
For additional peace of mind, Student Discoveries programs include accident, medical, and dental insurance for all participants. Please see the Travel Protection page for full plan details and limitations.
Student Discoveries also offers a very reasonable Travel Protection Plan that can be added to your program price. The plan adds trip cancellation/interruption protection, delayed arrival/missed connection protection, and travel delay protection. You can also rest assured that you’re financially secure when booking with Student Discoveries, part of the Globus family of brands. For your peace of mind, Globus provides not just one, but two financial plans for your protection—the Globus $10 Million Customer Protection Plan AND the USTOA $1 Million Travelers Assistance Program. Globus has provided a $10 million letter of credit issued by a leading bank to protect payments made by its customers for all vacation departures sold in the United States.
